Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, who has been the UEFA Champions League top scorer in 2020/21 and 2022/23, is the favorite to earn the award for the third time this season.
Haaland has scored at a rate of 1.04 goals per 90 minutes in 101 appearances for Manchester City, and he has scored 1.20 goals per 90 minutes in 39 UEFA Champions League appearances.
Kylian Mbappe, the joint-top scorer in 2023/24 with eight goals, is second in the odds after his move to Real Madrid. The speedy Frenchman scored on his competitive debut in the Super Cup for Los Blancos, and he has a career mark of 0.74 goals per 90 minutes in the UEFA Champions League.
Third in the market at +600 is the player who finished level with Mbappe atop last year's goalscoring charts, Harry Kane of Bayern Munich. Kane set a Bundesliga record in his first season in Germany with 36 league goals, and he has 29 UEFA Champions League goals in 44 matches.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is fourth in the odds at +1200, which is two times the price Kane can be found at heading into the competition. Salah scored eight goals in each of the 2021/22 and 2022/23 UEFA Champions League editions, and he has 44 goals in 79 career appearances in the tournament.
Fifth in the odds is Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr. While he may have some chances taken away from him due to the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, Vini shows up in the big moments and is experienced with 56 UEFA Champions League appearances - and 21 goals - to his name at the age of 24.
Further back in the market at 16/1 or longer are FC Barcelona poacher Robert Lewandowski, Real Madrid attacking midfielder Jude Bellingham, Manchester City attacker Phil Foden, newly-signed Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez, Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal, Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala, and Atletico Madrid attacking midfielder Antoine Griezmann.
