Who will win the UEFA Champions League in 2024/25?
The 2024/25 edition of the competition will see the group stage replaced by the league phase, which will be the first time the format is used in the tournament.
The league phase will see each team play eight games against eight different opponents, which is two more games than each team played under the group stage format.
While the new format could trip up some of the favorites early on, we're going to focus on the competition's latter stages here as we look at the outright odds heading into the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League.
Man City | +225 |
Real Madrid | +300 |
Arsenal | +900 |
Liverpool | +1000 |
Barcelona | +1200 |
Bayern Munich | +1200 |
Inter Milan | +1600 |
PSG | +1600 |
Bayer Leverkusen | +2500 |
Manchester City are the +225 favorites to win the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League ahead of the competition's league phase.
City won the tournament in 2022/23 but were knocked out by eventual winners Real Madrid in the 2023/24 semifinals. The main question for this club is what happens if Erling Haaland, the only proper striker on the team, gets injured.
Second in the odds are reigning champions Real Madrid. They have won the UEFA Champions League on a record 15 occasions and they added arguably the best attacker in the world, Kylian Mbappe, during the summer transfer window.
Mbappe was the joint-winner of last season's UEFA Champions League Golden Boot with eight goals, and he joins a team that has a reputation for late-game heroics in this competition.
Arsenal, who have yet to win a UEFA Champions League in club history, are third in the odds. Manager Mikel Arteta will have the same core of players he has coached for two seasons, and the team has steadily improved in that span but was eliminated in the quarterfinals of this tournament last year.
Liverpool are fourth in the odds, and they will hope that their squad clicks with new manager Arne Slot early in the season before the UEFA Champions League campaign starts. They have not made any changes to the first team this transfer window, which should ease the coaching transition.
Barcelona and Bayern Munich are tied for fifth in the market at +1200 each, and both teams have new coaches.
Barca brought in former Bayern coach Hansi Flick, who won the UEFA Champions League with Bayern in 2019/20. The Blaugrana successfully integrated academy players such as Pau Cubarsi and Fermin Lopez last campaign, and they signed Spain international Dani Olmo in the summer 2024 transfer window.
Bayern surprised quite a few people in the soccer world by hiring former Burnley manager Vincent Kompany. His progressive, possession-based style should fit Bayern better than the small-budget English club that finished 19th in the league last year, and the team signed Michael Olise to boost the attack.
Inter Milan and PSG are next in the odds with both teams at +1600. These clubs won the titles in Italy and France, respectively, last season, although PSG will have to cope with the loss of the aforementioned Real Madrid-bound superstar Mbappe.
Last season's undefeated Bundesliga winners Bayer Leverkusen are next in the odds, followed by Atletico Madrid, last season's UEFA Champions League runners-up Borussia Dortmund, and Juventus, who are back in the tournament after being banned last season.
