The University of Connecticut women begin their 2025 NCAA Tournament on Saturday, March 22 against No. 15 Arkansas State.
Amazingly, it has been nine years since the UConn women reached the heights of college basketball.
Geno Auriemma’s team dominated the women’s game for two decades, winning 11 national titles between 1995 and 2016, but has now been without a championship for the longest stretch of years since Auriemma took the helm in Storrs back in 1985.
The 2024/25 UConn Huskies have proven to be among the nation’s best yet again, dominating Big East play and adding and impressive non-conference win against defending champs South Carolina on February 16.
The Huskies are situated in the same region as No. 1 USC, who many expect to contend for the national championship. One of UConn’s three regular season losses came against the Trojans, a 72-20 loss on December 21.
But first, UConn must get through No. 15 Arkansas State, who earned a bid by winning the Sun Belt conference tournament. 2025 marks the first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance for the Red Wolves.
Arkansas St. vs. UConn will be shown on ABC, available via cable TV and live streaming apps such as YouTube TV.
Arkansas St. vs. UConn will tip off at 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT on Saturday, March 22 from Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connecticut, the home arena of the UConn Huskies.
