No. 1 UCLA will look to reach the program’s first Elite 8 since 2018 when they face No. 5 Ole Miss in the Sweet 16 on Friday night.
The Bruins, who spent 13 of 20 weeks ranked No. 1 in the nation this year, are hoping to cap off what was the best regular season in program history. Led by star center Lauren Betts (19.7 PPG, 9.7 RPG, 2.9 BPG), UCLA has lost just twice this season, both times to USC, who they ended up getting the better of in the Big Ten conference tournament.
Ole Miss is one of three 5-seeds to reach the women’s Sweet 16 following wins over No. 12 Ball State and No. 4 Baylor. The Rebels are battle-tested, having faced seven top-10 teams during the regular season, including South Carolina, UConn, and USC, but they are 2-5 in those games.
