Former unified world welterweight champion Keith Thurman has confirmed he will return to the ring in March as he prepares to take on Tim Tszyu in Las Vegas.
Thurman has not fought since February 2022, and he will step up in weight to take on the Australian later this year.
We covered everything you need to know regarding this fight, including when it is, where it is, who else is fighting, the odds for this fight, and a brief background for both of the fighters involved.
Tim Tzsyu vs. Keith Thurman is set to take place on March 30, 2024 in Las Vegas.
The main card gets underway at 8 PM ET but ring walk times for the main event are not yet confirmed.
Tzsyu and Thurman's bout will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, which has been synonymous with boxing events in recent years.
The venue can host 20,000 people for a boxing event, and it has already held some of the biggest bouts in the last few years.
Conor McGregor's clash with Floyd Mayweather Jr. was held at the iconic Las Vegas venue, as was the first clash between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin.
The T-Mobile Arena first opened in April 2016, and it will be the first time either fighter has fought at the famous venue.
The clash between Tzsyu and Thurman will be the inaugural PBC Pay-Per-View event, which is available on Prime Video.
March's event will be a non-title bout, even though Tszyu is the WBO world champion at 154lbs.
The Australian won the title in October 2023, beating Brian Mendoza via unanimous decision.
After a two-year absence, Thurman will step up in weight, and he will hope a victory could help him win another world title later in the year.
Australian Tzsyu remains undefeated, and his record stands at 24-0. The 29-year-old made his debut in 2016, and he has climbed the ranks and built himself a solid base Down Under.
Tzsyu has mainly fought in Australia and New Zealand, and he has only fought in America once, climbing off the canvas to beat Terrell Gausha in Minneapolis in March 2022.
Seventeen of Tszyu's wins have come inside the distance, proving he has the power to trouble anyone at his weight.
Two of his last three wins have come by knockout, and he will be confident of hurting Thurman in March.
Thurman's record stands at 30-1, with the American possessing one of the best resumes in boxing at present.
"One Time" won the first 29 fights of his career and unified the welterweight division before losing to Manny Pacquiao in July 2019.
Thurman only lost via split decision to Pacquiao, and he did well, considering he hit the canvas in the first round.
The 35-year-old has won 22 of his 30 fights by knockout, but his last stoppage victory came in 2015 when Luis Collazo retired before the final bell.
After a busy few years at the top of his division, Tzsyu is the -1000 favorite to win the fight, with Thurman considered a +600 outsider.
As Thurman has not won by knockout since 2015, he is as big as +1800 to record a stoppage win, while Tszyu is +333 to win the fight by decision or technical decision.
Over 8.5 total rounds is -110, while those who expect the fight to go the distance can back it at +240.
