TPC River Highlands, located in Cromwell, Connecticut, roughly two and a half hours northeast of mid-town Manhattan, New York, has been the site of the Travelers Championship since 1984.
The course, opened in 1928 as Middletown Golf Club and re-designed in 1982 by Pete Dye, then again in 1989 by Bobby Weed, is 6,841-yards long with a par of 70.
Jim Furyk holds the course record, a 12-under 58 he shot in the final round of the 2016 Travelers. It is also the lowest 18-hole score in PGA Tour history.
The Travelers is also known as one of the best fan experiences on the PGA Tour, with venues, including dining options and bars, all throughout the course.
Hole No. 18 at TPC River Highlands is one of the best places to watch a golf tournament as a fan, with elevated grass and hills surrounding the 18th green, allowing for an optimal viewing experience.
