There are still some more than decent players available as free agents for any NBA team looking to add a bit of depth to their squad ahead of the new season.
Admittedly, the best players have been snapped up at this point, but there are still some high quality individuals looking for new teams.
There are some big trades that could take still place and as such a number of teams are reluctant to offer some free agents contracts at this stage.
However, when they begin to finalise their rosters as the season draws closer there should be more activity and there are a number of players who could still be handed deals for the 2022-23 campaign.
Carmelo Anthony
Carmelo Anthony was one of the most prolific scorers of his era, the scoring champion in 2013 and a 10-time All-Star. The former New York Knicks star is now 38 and is no longer able to lead teams as he could earlier in his career - but he is still capable of playing a role from the bench.
The forward spent last season with Los Angeles Lakers and averaged 13.3 points-per-game, 4.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 26 minutes, as well as a career-high 0.8 blocks.
Anthony had similar stats in the previous campaign with Portland and could play a role from the bench for another outfit in the season ahead.
Dennis Schroder
Dennis Schroder was a regular starter for the Lakers in 2020-21 and then split last season between Boston Celtic and Houston Rockets, before a shoulder injury cut short his campaign in March.
At 28, Schroder still has a lot to offer in the NBA and is comfortable as a starter or as a reserve.
He averaged 5.9 assists-per-game for the Rockets in 15 appearances last season, four starts, and it is perhaps surprising he hasn't been offered a deal somewhere already.
Montrezl Harrell
Montrezl Harrell can play as either a center or power forward and won the Sixth Man of the Year award in 2020 during his time with Los Angeles Clippers, which shows just how important he can be coming off the bench.
Harrell is still only 28 and posted some strong stats last season as he split the campaign between Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets.
Miami Heat are reportedly weighing up the possibility of offering Harrell a deal for the season ahead so he may not be a free agent for much longer.
LeMarcus Aldridge
LeMarcus Aldridge isn't a starter at this stage of his impressive NBA career - but the 37-year-old is still more than capable of making a contribution, potentially a game-changing one, from the bench.
One of the most talented big men of his generation, Aldridge is a seven-time All-Star who averaged 12.9 points-per-game on 55% shooting in 22 minutes for Brooklyn Nets last season.
Aldridge brings experience and his accuracy from the field is the kind of weapon that opposing teams will fear when he is introduced from the bench, so it wouldn't be a shock to see him offered a deal somewhere as teams begin to finalise their rosters for the 2022-23 season.
Dwight Howard
Dwight Howard started 27 games for the Lakers last season and showed he can still be an effective rebounder, averaging 5.9 per game and he is still a threat around the rim.
Howard helped the Lakers win the championship in 2020 as a bench player, then spent the following season in Philadelphia before returning to LA.
The 36-year-old has been able to make the transition from being a star man to an effective reserve option and he can still compete in the NBA, so chances are he will find another team where he can establish himself in the rotation before the new season begins.
Eric Bledsoe
Eric Bledsoe is surprisingly still available, but the veteran guard should be able to find a new team before the season gets under way.
The former Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix star spent last season with the Clippers in his second spell for the franchise, having spent the first three seasons of his NBA career in LA.
Bledsoe is still a quality defender and is also able to make an impact in offense and could be a good acquisition for a team looking for further depth in the point guard position.
