2023 College Football season: top performing players and teams from Week 3

Another weekend of college football is in the books, and this one was full of exciting matchups.

Below, we've compiled a list of our top performances from the Week 3 slate, whether it be individual players or teams.

Malik Nabers - WR, LSU

In what was supposed to be one of the marquee matchups of Week 3, the LSU Tigers marched into Mississippi State's stadium and crushed them by a score of 41-14.

QB Jayden Daniels put on an impressive display with the same number of total touchdowns as incompletions (four). However, it was his wideout in Malik Nabers that stole the show.

Nabers amassed 239 receiving yards and added two touchdown grabs to go along with it. He caught 13 balls in total and averaged 18.4 yards per catch

Nabers has had this kind of talent ever since stepping foot on campus, but if he's able to consistently put up numbers even remotely close to last week's output, the Tigers may be able to quickly turn around their season.

Florida Gators

Most of the college football world was left stunned by the result in Florida this past weekend.

It's not so shocking that the Gators wound up winning against Tennessee considering this marked their 11th straight success over the Volunteers at home, but it's the manner in which it happened.

It was a 13-point victory for Florida, who trailed by one point at the end of the first quarter. Then, the Gators took over, scoring 20 unanswered points in the second quarter.

Tennessee played extremely sloppily as evidenced by their 10 penalties, but this was still an impressive win for a squad that had previously looked lost.

If QB Graham Mertz can continue to play that efficiently, Florida may be a tough out in the SEC.

Washington Huskies

It's safe to say that every top team has had at least one showing already this season where they looked unimpressive.

Every team, that is, except the Washington Huskies.

The Huskies have won every game this season by at least 33 points, including Week 3's drubbing on the road against the Michigan State Spartans. QB Michael Penix Jr. is quietly producing one of the best seasons of anyone at that position.

Washington boasts arguably the best offense in the country, at least from a passing standpoint, and their defense has even been more than solid as well.

The Pac 12 as a whole this season appears to be in superb shape, but with the way the Huskies look right now, this conference may be theirs to lose, along with a CFP spot.

Marvin Harrison Jr. - WR, Ohio State

The Ohio State Buckeyes yet again came away with a victory this season, although the contest didn't start out all that hot.

They led Western Kentucky by just four points at the end of the first quarter, and then Marvin Harrison Jr. began to do Marvin Harrison Jr. things as the Buckeyes ended up winning 63-10 behind Harrison Jr.'s monster game.

He only recorded five catches and one touchdown, but he amassed 126 receiving yards on just those five catches for a ridiculous 25.2 average yards per catch.

He's proving why he's the top wideout in the nation and soon to be a top 10 draft pick in the NFL.

After suffering an injury scare in Week 1, Harrison Jr. now looks as good as ever.

Colorado State wide receivers

The most talked about contest from last weekend was the Colorado State vs. Colorado matchup.

And while the Rams weren't able to pull off the upset, their receivers and tight ends put up some amazing numbers and possibly earned themselves a boatload of NFL money in the future.

WRs Tory Horton and Louis Brown combined for 26 catches totaling 264 yards and two touchdowns.

Their TE, Dallin Holker, amassed two receiving touchdowns himself on his way to putting up 109 yards on six catches.

This was a game for the ages and, even though CSU will be thinking about how things could have gone differently, their receiving corps certainly isn't to blame.
