Tom Brady's Dog is a Clone, How did he do it?

NFL Legend and future Hall-of-Famer announced on Tuesday that his current dog is clone of his former beloved pet.

Tom Brady has long made headlines off the field unrelated to his playing career, and this news is no different.

Brady has a long list of investments outside of football and one of them led to a new life for his family dog, Lua. Lua was pit bull mix who passed away in 2023, and his new dog Junie is perfect genetic match.

One of Tom's investments outside of football was in biotech company Colossal Biosciences, which acquired ViaGen Pets and Equine which has been working on animal cloning.

Brady had this to say in his statement.

A few years ago, I worked with Colossal and leveraged their non-invasive cloning technology through a simple blood draw of our family's elderly dog before she passed.

ViaGen Pets and Equine is a world leader in animal cloning, and have successfully cloned thousands of healthy and happy animals.

The company creates a genetic twin of animals with the exact same DNA using non invasive techniques.

Veterinarians collect a small tissue sample from an animal through a simple procedure, and experts culture new cells containing the animals exact genetic code.

ViaGen states that their is no gene editing or modification involved, and animals will have the same intelligence, temperament, and appearance as the original.

While the company offers their service to pets owners, Tom Brady stated that he is excited about what the company can offer to families, as well as animal conservationists.

I am excited how Colossal and ViaGen's tech together can help both families losing their beloved pet... While helping to save endangered species.

Colossal was the same company that reintroduced the previously extinct dire wolf that was feature in the popular series, Game of Thrones. The company is also working on reintroducing the dodo bird, wooly mammoth, and more extinct species.

Their partner, ViaGen, have been cloning pets since 2016.

Other celebrities who have cloned their pets were Barbara Streisand and Paris Hilton.
