Nations League: England hoping for consolation win

England's Nations League campaign has proven to be a huge disappointment, as their relegation from League A has already been confirmed following the 1-0 defeat to Italy last time out.

It hasn't been much better for Germany, who are unable to qualify for the Finals next year, but they can still finish second if they pick up a victory and Italy fail to beat Hungary.

Gareth Southgate has come under intense pressure following the latest defeat, which has seen the country's winless run extended to five games - their worst spell since June 2014.

Brentford striker Ivan Toney could be given a chance to impress after being left out of the matchday squad for the Italy defeat.

An England win is priced at 11/8, while the draw is 23/10 and Germany are 2/1 to gain some revenge for the 2-0 loss they suffered to the Three Lions at Wembley at the 2020 European Championships.

Snooker: Stage set for Milton Keynes cracker

The British Open 2022 begins on Monday - only the third ranking event of the 2022/23 season - and there is a stellar field that will be battling for glory.

Ronnie O'Sullivan, Judd Trump and Mark Selby are among those in the draw in Milton Keynes and there has been a slight change in format for this edition.

Last year had best-of-five fixtures utilised in the earlier stages but it will now be best-of-seven frames for every round until the quarter-finals, which increase to nine-frame matches.

O'Sullivan is 5/1 to lift the trophy, while Trump is 7/1, John Higgins is priced at 12/1 and defending champion Mark Williams is 12/1 to triumph.

Nations League: Scotland eye promotion

Scotland head into Tuesday's final Group B1 clash against Ukraine with the knowledge that a draw will be enough to secure their promotion to League A.

The Scots came from behind to defeat the Republic of Ireland 2-1 last time out, a result which kept them top of their pool and two points clear of second-placed Ukraine.

Steve Clarke's men are 15/8 to pick up the victory over the 11/8 Ukraine, while the draw is priced at 12/5.

Also on Tuesday, Portugal play host to Spain knowing a share of the spoils would be enough to send the inaugural Nations League winners into next year's Finals.
