Bryson DeChambeau is +1100 to win The Open Championship, golf’s fourth and final major championship of the year, off the back of his nail-biting victory at Pinehurst.
The American outlasted Rory McIlroy in what was thrilling back nine in Sunday’s final round to clinch his second U.S. Open in five years, finishing at 6-under to McIlroy’s 5-under.
McIlroy led by two strokes with five holes remaining, but bogeyed three of his last four holes, including two misses from within four feet, to give up the lead.
DeChambeau struggled to hit fairways all day, but pulled it together over the final few holes with some wonderful approach shots and clutch par saves. The 30-year-old clinched the tournament with a four-foot par putt on No. 18.
Now, the players will turn their attention to the final major of 2024, The Open Championship, taking place at Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland.
DeChambeau is rated as third-favorite behind Scottie Scheffler (+450) and McIlroy (+800), who continues to seek his first major title since 2014.
DeChambeau has seen the least of his major success come at The Open, with his best finish a T8 in 2022. But Bryson has been dynamite at the majors in 2024, with a T6 at The Masters, 2nd at the PGA Championship, and now a win at the U.S. Open.
The two-time major champion is +110 to finish in the top-10 of all four majors in 2024.
