The Colorado Buffaloes have been incredibly underwhelming again in 2026, and fans fear that Deion Sanders is unable to create a high-quality football team without his son Shedeur playing quarterback and the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter on both sides of the ball.
The Buffs started the season 2-0 with wins over Georgia Tech and Weber State, but followed up the promising start with big losses against Northwestern and Baylor in the weeks since.
This weekend, the Buffs face No. 12 Texas Tech, their toughest opponent yet. Deion has already confirmed a change at quarterback, opting for Isaac Wilson over Julian Lewis, who started the first four games.
Wilson is the younger brother of NFL quarterback Zach Wilson, and joined the Buffs after spending the past two seasons at Utah. He threw for 156 yards and a touchdown after replacing Lewis midway through the Baylor game.
Texas Tech will be a huge test for Wilson in his first start at Folsom Field. The Red Raiders are 4-0 this season thanks to their incredible running scheme.
Texas Tech has a lethal running back duo in J'Koby Williams and Cameron Dickey, who have combined for 512 yards and seven touchdowns in the first four games. Williams is a dual-threat back who doesn't just run between the tackles, but also boasts strong route-running abilities that make him a threat in the passing game. Cameron Dickey profiles more as a short-yardage back capable of picking up an extra few yards after contact.
Spread | Total (O/U) | Money | |
Texas Tech | -12.5 -110 | O 50.5 -110 | -500 |
Colorado | +12.5 -110 | U 50.5 -110 | +375 |
Colorado is a home underdog this weekend in Isaac Wilson's first start with the Buffaloes. The crowd will surely be on his side, but he'll need to be great against a tough Texas Tech defense to pull off the upset.
