2025 French Open: Women's Singles Picks, Predictions and Odds

The French Open, the second major on the tennis calendar, begins on Sunday in Paris and in the women's draw the title fight appears to be especially wide open among a number of genuine contenders.

Iga Swiatek is a four-time Paris champion, but she heads into her latest title defense in vulnerable form. The 23-year-old Pole has fallen to No. 5 in the rankings and she has not yet won a single title in 2025 - not even on her beloved clay-court surface.

With Swiatek struggling, a whole host of other players could be in prime position to lift the trophy.

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka has won three Grand Slam titles (two at the Australian Open, one at the U.S. Open) and seems poised to secure her first one on clay sooner rather than later.

Young stars Coco Gauff and Mirra Andreeva have been soaring up the rankings in recent seasons and are playing great going into Paris. Jasmine Paolini and Qinwen Zheng are fantastic clay-court players, while reigning Australian Open champion Madison Keys can never be discounted regardless of the surface.

Let’s break down the best bets to make, along with some of the odds for the upcoming fortnight in Paris.

2025 French Open Women's Singles betting picks and predictions

Mirra Andreeva to win outright (+550)

Mirra Andreeva is not your typical wonderkid prospect.

She has already been on tour for quite a while and has established herself as one of the best players in the game. Just two years ago, she advanced to the third round in Paris and the Wimbledon fourth round.

Twelve months later, she reached the French Open semifinals, and as that kind of progression would indicate, there is no reason why Andreeva can’t win the whole thing in 2025.

Recent results are also extremely encouraging for her. She has already won two 1000-point tournaments (the second tier below the Grand Slams) in 2025, lifting trophies in Dubai and Indian Wells.

She compiled a respectable 6-2 match record across clay-court events in Madrid and Rome and both of her losses came against Gauff.

The No. 6 seed finds herself in a favorable spot in the draw on the opposite side from both Swiatek and Sabalenka.

Coco Gauff to win outright (+550)

Like Andreeva, Coco Gauff also appears to have benefited from the draw. Those two rising stars are on a collision course for the semifinals in the bottom half, while Swiatek, Sabalenka, Paolini and Zheng are among those in the top half.

Gauff’s results have been somewhat all over the place in 2025, but she is heating up just in time for Paris. The 21-year-old American is coming off back-to-back runner-up performances in Madrid (lost to Sabalenka) and Rome (lost to Paolini), posting wins over Andreeva (twice), Swiatek, Zheng and Emma Raducanu at those two events.

Moreover, she absolutely loves the French Open, with her last four results there being quarterfinals, runner-up, quarterfinals, and semifinals.

The World No. 2 may never be the most consistent player on tour, so she is sometimes a risky play as a heavy favorite in individual matches.

However, she has value on the outright market given her potential to go all the way and this tournament is no exception.

Elena Rybakina to win outright (+3300)

If you are in the business of a longshot play, Elena Rybakina could be your call. After all, the Kazakh is usually among the top favorites at Grand Slams.

When you can get her at +3300 to win, it’s an opportunity that should not be missed.

It is true that clay is Rybakina’s least favorite surface and that her 2025 campaign has been underwhelming so far.

Still, there is no reason why she can’t turn things around. The 25-year-old is a two-time quarterfinalist at Roland Garros and she currently finds herself in the semis of an event in Stuttgart. Momentum is building.

Rybakina is in Swiatek’s section of the draw in Paris but, considering the Pole's aforementioned struggles, that may not be such a bad thing.
