Read the latest betting pick, predictions and odds for the St. Louis Blues (43-29-7) vs. Edmonton Oilers (44-28-5) in the NHL, courtesy of our friends at Daily Faceoff.
St. Louis had its franchise-record 12-game win streak snapped on Monday in Winnipeg with a 3-1 loss to the Jets. The Blues will now continue their three-game road trip with stops in Edmonton and Seattle before returning home to close out the season. Meanwhile, the Oilers are back at Rogers Place after wrapping up a four-game road trip with back-to-back losses to the Los Angeles Kings (3-0) and Anaheim Ducks (3-2).
Edmonton and St. Louis have split their last 10 meetings, but the Oilers are 2-0 against the Blues this season, winning 4-2 on Dec. 7 and 3-2 in overtime on Feb. 4. However, the Oilers' lineup looks much different this time around, as the team is dealing with a slew of injuries.
Not only has Connor McDavid missed the last eight games, but Leon Draisaitl is out again after a brief return to the lineup, leaving Edmonton without its two biggest stars. The Oilers are also missing goaltender Stuart Skinner and defenseman Mattias Ekholm. Trent Frederic, who made his Oilers debut in Los Angeles, is also listed as day-to-day.
The Blues are missing a couple of key players as well. Defenseman Colton Parayko has been sidelined since March 5, and forward Dylan Holloway has missed the last two games. The former Oiler has had a breakout season, ranking second on the team in goals (26) and third in points (63). Robert Thomas, meanwhile, has been on fire, recording points in 12 of his last 13 games—including nine in a row—and notching multiple points in six of his last eight outings.
