The No. 12 St. John's Red Storm (20-3, 11-1 Big East) have been one of the biggest surprises of the 2024/25 Men's College Basketball season, and their credentials will be tested in a road game against the two-time reigning National Champion No. 19 UConn Huskies (16-6, 8-3 Big East).
These teams have been winning games in opposite ways. The main surprise is that St. John's, a team that did not once enter the AP Poll last season, is ranked ahead of the reigning champs with about a month to go before conference tournaments begin.
Under head coach Dan Hurley, the Huskies tend to outscore their opponents while shooting plenty of threes and making them at a high rate. Rick Pitino's St. John's team, meanwhile, plays suffocating defense and holds opponents to the seventh-lowest average two-point field goal percentage of 43.1 percent.
St. John's vs. UConn will be broadcast on FOX, available via linear or cable TV and live TV streaming apps such as YouTubeTV or FuboTV.
St. John's vs. UConn is scheduled to start at 8 PM ET/7 PM CT on Friday, February 7th from Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connecticut.
St. John's: Kadary Richmond, Deivon Smith, RJ Luis, Aaron Scott, Zuby Ejiofor
