The UConn Huskies women's basketball team started the season with a win, and they take on the South Florida Bulls in their second game of the 2024/25 campaign.
Women's Wooden Award favorite Paige Bueckers scored 14 points in 24 minutes on 5/9 shooting with four rebounds, seven assists, five steals and a block in UConn's dominant 86-32 win over the Boston University Terriers on Thursday.
Top-ranked Huskies freshman Sarah Strong started and was the co-leading scorer with 17 points on 8/12 shooting with four rebounds, three assists and three blocks, and Jana El Alfy came off the bench and also scored 17 points with 11 rebounds.
The Bulls, meanwhile, are 2-0 with wins over Bethune (87-44) and Mount St. Mary's (68-51).
