The SheBelieves Cup is in full swing and tournament hosts the USA continue their campaign against Australia in Arizona on Sunday.

The Stars and Stripes, who have won the tournament on seven occasions, began their latest title defence with a 2-0 win over Colombia on Thursday thanks to goals from Catarina Macario and Ally Sentnor.

But that result was not enough to put the USA top of the group after the first batch of matches as Japan ran out 4-0 winners over Australia in Houston.

Things do not get any easier for the Matildas after that humbling defeat and they will lock horns with the USA in their second assignment.

It is an opportunity for Australia to put things right, while the USA will be looking for a second win which could set up a tournament decider with Japan, depending on what happens in Sunday's other contest.

The USA are unsurprisingly favourites to get the win at -450, while the tie is +500 and a victory for Australia Women is priced at +800.

The USA's opening win over Colombia may not have been earth-shattering but they got the job done and a similar result could be on the cards against Australia in their second match at the SheBelieves Cup.

In Houston last time out, the USA crucially scored the first goal, going ahead after 33 minutes thanks to Macario, and Sentnor scored in the second half to double their advantage.

And if they are to take the lead against Australia, they have the defensive resolve to hold on to their advantage.

Jane Campbell played in goal for the USA last time out and, although it was only her ninth international appearance, she managed to secure a clean sheet with the defence in front of her denying Colombia a single shot on target.

So while the USA's offensive threat is no secret, they also have the resolve at the back to hold onto leads, meaning a bet on the hosts to take the lead in the first half and see out the win is the way to go.

They were 2-0 winners last time out against Colombia and, now that they have settled into the SheBelieves Cup, there is every chance they can be even more convincing winners against the Matildas.

The USA have an excellent record against Australia, winning 28 of the previous 35 meetings between the nations, and they should show their superiority once again.

Australia finished last year with successive wins over Chinese Taipei but they have underwhelmed against bigger opponents, having lost back-to-back games against Brazil back in November.
