The United States men's soccer team continues its quest to reach the knockout stage of the Olympics with a match against Guinea in Group A on Tuesday.
Marko Mitrovic's side started the competition with a 3-0 defeat to hosts France but impressed in beating New Zealand 4-1 in their second game.
They will expect to win in Saint-Etienne when they face a Guinea side which has lost both of its matches at the competition.
However, with this their first Olympics since 2008, it feels like a step into the unknown for the USMNT. Despite being heavy favorites, they will need to produce a good performance against an awkward opponent.
The Stars and Stripes are still to record a clean sheet in France after being overwhelmed 3-0 by the hosts first time out and then conceding the final goal in their 4-1 win over the Kiwis.
That result in Marseille has put them in a strong position to qualify for the quarterfinals, probably behind France, and they could face any of Argentina, Ukraine, Morocco or Iraq, with all four Group B nations tied on three points.
Guinea lost 2-1 to New Zealand and 1-0 to France but can still qualify due to the goal difference situation in the pool.
Both of their games have been tight, with Guinea happy to sit deep and try to hit their opponents on the break.
They have quality through their captain and Anderlecht midfielder Amadou Diawara - formerly of Roma and Napoli - who scored their goal against the Kiwis, and ex-Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita, who will arguably be the most gifted player on the field.
These two will lead the press as Guinea looks to frustrate the United States but Mitrovic's team has the quality to come through this test and move into the knockouts.
USA should win but Guinea's discipline makes them awkward. They held France for 75 minutes and 0-0 could be a half-time scoreline to back.
That was also the case in the USA's opening game against Les Bleus, an understandably cagey fixture due to it being both sides' opening fixture.
There will also be nerves on show at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, with each team knowing the right result can see them go through and prolong hopes of winning gold. But conversely, a bad performance may end their campaign.
It means the game may not open until after the interval and considering these teams' matches so far and what's at stake, backing this fixture to be goalless at the turnaround looks sensible.
Djordje Mihailovic got the player of the match award against New Zealand, scoring a penalty to get the goals going before assisting Walker Zimmerman and helping the team to a 3-0 halftime lead.
The 25-year-old's career feels as if it's on the comeback trail after struggling to produce his best form at AZ Alkmaar and returning to MLS with Colorado Rapids in January.
He is clearly happy at the Rapids and it shows in his numbers, scoring 10 goals and adding nine assists to help them rise to fourth in the Western Conference.
Mitrovic chose to withdraw his playmaker after 57 minutes against the Kiwis to rest him up for this game and his fresh legs could produce more magic in Saint-Etienne.
