Both Turkey and Portugal made winning starts to their Euro 2024 campaigns and they will now lock horns in a potentially decisive showdown in Dortmund on Saturday.
Turkey won a frenetic affair with Georgia 3-1 on Tuesday, with Arda Guler scoring from distance before Vincenzo Montella's men wrapped up the win with a goal on the counter-attack in the 97th minute.
Portugal, meanwhile, were frustrated by the Czech Republic in their first match in Group F but Francisco Conceicaco's 92nd-minute goal from close range handed them a 2-1 win and the three points.
With places in the last 16 of Euro 2024 up for grabs, there will be plenty at stake when these two teams meet at BVB Stadion Dortmund.
Portugal dominated their Euro 2024 opener against Czech Republic, seeing 74 percent of the ball and winning the shot count 19-5 in Leipzig.
But Roberto Martinez's side came close to settling for a share of the spoils and punters should not rush to back them against the Turkish.
Often touted as dark horses at major tournaments, Turkey made a winning start to Euro 2024 and there were plenty of positives from their win over Georgia.
It was full-back Mert Muldur who broke the deadlock with a strike from distance, while wonderkid Arda Guler also struck a special goal in Dortmund.
Their final goal was hit on the break by Muhammed Kerem Akturkoglu and in total Turkey racked up 22 shots, eight of which were on target.
In Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Diogo Jota and Rafael Leao among others, Portugal also ooze quality in attack and four of their last six contests have seen both teams score and over 2.5 goals.
Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals also clicked in three of Turkey's last four matches, including a 6-1 hammering by Austria in March, and that looks the wisest selection in this contest.
Teenage sensation Arda Guler's curling effort against Georgia was one of the best goals in the opening round of group matches at Euro 2024 and he should be high on confidence heading into this game with Portugal.
Guler, who plays his club football with Real Madrid, looks like one of the stars of the future and given what he did last time out, he could be inclined to shoot from distance against Portugal on matchday two.
Guler scored once for Turkey during qualifying for Euro 2024, averaged 1.5 shots per game for Real Madrid in La Liga last term and looks overpriced to again hit a shot on target.
A lot was made of whether or not Martinez should start Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal at this summer's Euros but the veteran ace repaid the faith shown in him with a lively performance against the Czech Republic.
Ronaldo did not find the net for Portugal on matchday one but he played the entire match, managing five shots, three of which were on target.
Not only is Ronaldo a regular free-kick and penalty taker for his country but he also remains a fierce presence in the air and he is worth a bet to score at anytime at -110.
Ronaldo bagged a second-half brace in Portugal's final warm-up fixture against Republic of Ireland earlier this month and he scored 35 goals for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League last season - seven more than the next leading scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic.
