Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

It doesn't get much bigger than this as two of the most decorated clubs in European soccer history, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, go head-to-head in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal.

Both teams are coming into this on the back of quarterfinal victories over Premier League opponents, with Real eliminating defending champions Manchester City in a second leg penalty shootout while Bayern edged past Arsenal 3-2 on aggregate.

Real are on course to win the La Liga title, whereas Bayern have had to play second fiddle to Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, and the Spanish side would probably settle for a share of the spoils in the opening leg away at the Allianz Arena.

Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich betting picks and predictions

Tie (+260)

Real's last three Champions League matches have ended as ties after 90 minutes and they may take a repeat at the Allianz Arena given the return leg will be at their fortress, the Bernabeu.

That includes both legs of their quarterfinal against City, who they eventually defeated on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 tie at the Etihad. There is plenty of hope for the 14-time Champions League/European Cup winners in Germany.

Los Blancos have already been to Germany twice in the Champions League this season. They have won 3-2 at Union Berlin and 1-0 at Leipzig, and they tied 1-1 in the return leg of their last 16 fixture with Leipzig.

But Bayern, armed with the services of England hotshot Harry Kane, are a different proposition to those teams and Tuesday will be a serious test. The German giants finished level at 2-2 away at Arsenal in the first leg of their quarter-final before Joshua Kimmich's second-half goal gifted them a 1-0 win at home to the Gunners.

For all their disappointments this season, Bayern have lost only two of their 21 home games which shows the difficulties Real face. But Real have not lost a competitive match in 90 minutes since September, a remarkable run stretching 40 games.

Given the stakes, it is easy to see this being a tense affair and nobody will want to lose it in the opening leg, which makes the tie the value at the prices.

Vinicius Junior to score or assist (+125)

Real have an array of attacking talent at their disposal with Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior the leading lights with 12 Champions League goals between them this season.

But it is Vinicius who could play a starring role in Munich, with his three goals and five assists coming from only seven starts in Europe.

The Brazilian has 19 goals and 11 assists from 33 appearances in all competition this season and this brittle Bayern defence will have a tough time trying to contain him.

The German side have kept only three clean sheets in their last 17 matches and even if they find a way to come out on top, they are unlikely to shut out Real completely.

It is also interesting to note that both teams have scored in the last four Champions League meetings between these two heavyweights, all of which came in 2017 and 2018.

Eduardo Camavinga to be shown a card (+275)

Given what is on the line, cards should be guaranteed and it is +110 for there to be five or more yellows shown.

That looks a likely scenario and one of the leading card candidates is Real midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, who is not one to shy away from a challenge.

Camavinga has been booked in four of his last five starts in La Liga and only Arsenal's Kai Havertz and Real Sociedad's Igor Zubeldia have committed more fouls than the France international in this season's Champions League.

The athletic 21-year-old has committed 17 fouls in eight Champions League appearances, with two of those appearances resulting in a booking.

At +275, he makes plenty of appeal to catch the attention of referee Clement Turpin.
