Xabi Alonso's reign as Real Madrid head coach began with a frustrating 1-1 draw against Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal in their Club World Cup opener in Miami.
That has left Madrid with a little work to do in the final two group games, although Alonso is unlikely to be panicking just yet.
Next up for Los Blancos is a date with Pachuca at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, with the Mexican side having been edged out 2-1 by early group leaders FC Salzburg in their opener in Cincinnati.
All four teams in Group H at the Club World Cup found the net in the opening round of fixtures and there is every chance we could get a few goals at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday.
Real Madrid will be without French superstar Kylian Mbappe after he was admitted to hospital with an "acute case of gastroenteritis" earlier this week, but that shouldn't be too much of an issue for Real given their abundance of attacking options.
However, Alonso is short of numbers at the back with David Alaba, Dani Carvajal, Ferland Mendy, Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger all absent.
A makeshift Real defence allowed Al Hilal to register 13 shots on Wednesday, which will give Pachuca confidence that they can cause the Spaniards trouble in Charlotte.
Despite losing their opener 2-1, Pachuca bossed the attacking statistics, taking more shots and steering more on target than Salzburg.
The Mexican outfit have found the net in 14 of their last 17 matches and could contribute to an entertaining encounter.
Four yellow cards were dished out by Argentinian referee Facundo Tello in Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Al Hilal, but it could pay to go low on cautions in Charlotte.
The three yellows given to Al Hilal's players came in the 89th, 91st and 99th minutes and the Saudis committed only 10 fouls in the game.
Pachuca's opener saw only their defender Federico Pereira pick up a card and Sunday's referee, Brazilian Ramon Abatti, showed just two in his first match at the Club World Cup - a 2-0 win for Manchester City over Wydad AC.
Matches at the tournament so far have been fairly free-flowing and Abatti may not have to get too involved at Bank of America Stadium.
Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made just one save in the draw with Al Hilal , ut the Belgian may be called into action on more occasions against Pachuca.
Despite Courtois being relatively quiet, Real did allow Al Hilal to get off 13 shots in Miami and Pachuca registered six shots on target in their defeat to Salzburg.
Salzburg's keeper Christian Zawieschitzky made five saves in his side's 2-1 win and the enterprising Mexicans could penetrate Real's makeshift rearguard more than Al Hilal.
With that in mind, that they call Courtois into action at least three times in Charlotte looks fair enough.
