Monday sees 2016 champions Portugal face Slovenia in the last-16 at the Euros in Frankfurt.
Portugal is smarting from a 2-0 defeat in their final Group F outing defeat to Georgia but Roberto Martinez rested several big names for that game and will likely reintroduce them all for this one.
Slovenia won 2-0 when the pair met in a March friendly but a repeat outcome looks unlikely. They finished third in Group C courtesy of a run of three ties against Denmark, Serbia and England.
This is the first time they have made it to the knockout phase of a major tournament as an independent nation and Matjaz Kek's side is expected to look to keep it tight again.
After a fine season for RB Leipzig, Slovenia striker Benjamin Sesko came into the competition with a big reputation. However, he looks to be struggling with the quad injury he has managed all tournament, and his issue has blunted Slovenia's attack.
Sesko has yet to register for the tournament, which obviously hurts Slovenia, who has managed just two goals in three games.
By contrast, Portugal managed five strikes from their first two games and can be forgiven for looking disjointed against Georgia after, with top seeding already assured, Martinez looked to rest his stars by heavily rotating for the 2-0 defeat in Gelsenkirchen.
Their star-studded roster will be in full evidence in Frankfurt and they should be the comfortable winners.
The Georgia defeat aside, their only other goal conceded was a wonderstrike from Czech Republic wideman Lukas Provod.
Slovenia probably doesn't have the same quality and a second clean sheet to go with their shutout against Turkey looks likely for the 2016 champions.
He might be 39 but Cristiano Ronaldo has still looked good at the Euros and is sure to start on Monday.
The forward is both the record appearance maker and leading scorer in European Championship history. His tally has risen to 28 matches played during the current tournament in Germany but he has cut a frustrated figure in failing to add to his 14 career goals.
Slovenia will sit deep and look to forestall the Selecao but that may not be too big of a problem for Ronaldo. Age means these days he is not as inclined to run in behind and he will embrace the chance to stand on the six yard line and smash home any loose balls that fall his way.
After scoring at the Euros in 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020, another goal would see him extend his record of most tournaments with at least one goal to six and Monday sets up nicely for him.
Slovenia's defense has been expertly marshalled by Udinese's Jaka Bijol but the pressure almost told against England when he was booked for fouling Harry Kane.
The Udinese man celebrated qualification wildly after the match and will relish the opportunity to test himself against another elite attacking unit.
He always looks in control and that assumption is backed up by the numbers, completing a joint-fourth tournament best of 10 tackles and leading the attempted clearances statistics with a grand tally of 31.
Bijol will happily sacrifice himself for a possible victory. A second yellow of the tournament will see him miss a potential quarter-final but the 25-year-old will give up his own participation if it means his country progresses.
