With Rivalry Week in the rearview mirror, Major League Soccer returns for another packed schedule this weekend and Saturday's clash between Philadelphia Union and Inter Miami is particularly eye-catching.
The Union lead the way in the MLS Eastern Conference and the race for the Supporters' Shield, and they are enjoying a terrific 2025.
As for Inter Miami, they have struggled for consistency under manager Javier Mascherano and their latest setback was a humbling 3-0 defeat to in-state rivals Orlando City in Fort Lauderdale.
They cannot afford to carry on as they are and pressure could mount on their Argentinian boss when they face Philly, who are priced at +120 to win this weekend's encounter at their home ground, Subaru Park.
The overall status of Inter Miami means they are often overrated in the betting and this weekend certainly feels like one of those situations.
At +120, Philadelphia Union look a cracking wager to win on their own patch.
In their last two MLS encounters, Philadelphia recovered from 2-0 down to beat strugglers LA Galaxy 3-2 before edging Atlanta United 1-0 on Sunday, despite heavily rotating their team.
They then built their confidence with a 4-1 hammering of lower-league Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the US Open Cup, and there is a real feel-good factor around the Union right now.
Philadelphia have won nine of their 14 MLS fixtures in 2025 and their tally of 27 goals scored is the best in the Eastern Conference, with Orlando matching it.
As for Inter, they have had a mixed bag of results with six wins, four draws and three defeats. And while they keep scoring goals, they are conceding far too many.
In 13 MLS games, they have allowed 21 goals. That is more than Toronto down in 13th, New England in 11th and New York Red Bulls in 10th.
They were wasteful in their 3-0 defeat to Orlando last time out, managing 21 shots but steering just four of them on target.
That defeat extended their winless run to three games as they were also hammered 4-1 by Minnesota and drew 3-3 with San Jose in their two games beforehand. The Union should sniff an opportunity when these MLS powers lock horns.
For those after a player prop, Union striker Tai Baribo makes an appeal to score at +162.
Baribo is the top scorer in MLS this year with 11 goals in 13 matches, helping to propel Philadelphia to the top of the MLS Eastern Conference standings.
And the former Wolfsberger forward has been in particularly good form of late, scoring a penalty from off the bench in his last MLS game against Atlanta United and bagging a brace in the 3-2 win over LA Galaxy.
He has scored four times in his last three MLS matches and given Inter Miami's concerning defensive record, there is likely to be plenty of opportunities for Philadelphia to score goals, so Baribo can capitalize.
