Paris Saint-Germain vs. Inter Milan: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

Despite taking just 13 points from eight games and coming only 15th in the League Phase, Paris Saint-Germain have hit the burners in the UEFA Champions League in the knockout stages, beating the Premier League’s top two, Liverpool and Arsenal, as well as Aston Villa en route to the final.

Spearheaded by a frightening attack and playing beautiful tiki-taka football under Luis Enrique, the Parisians go into Saturday’s final in Munich as narrow favorites to secure a first ever UEFA Champions League title.

However, Inter Milan, beaten finalists in 2023, will not go down without a fight. They were massive underdogs for their semi-final with PSG’s rivals for the tag of Europe’s best team, Barcelona, but edged that thrilling tie 7-6 on aggregate.

Simone Inzaghi has plenty of experience at his disposal and the Nerazzurri should not be readily discarded as they look to secure a first UEFA Champions League crown since 2010 at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.

Paris Saint-Germain vs. Inter Milan betting picks and predictions

Inter Milan to lift the trophy (+130)

It is easy to be drawn to PSG. They are led by Enrique, UEFA Champions League-winning manager with Barcelona in 2015, and have quality all over the pitch.

Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos and Nuno Mendes are amongst the best defenders in the world, Joao Neves, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz compliment each other perfectly in midfield and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele make up one of the best front threes in Europe.

However, even with all that in their favor, preference is for Inter Milan, who represent a match-up nightmare for the Parisians.

Enrique’s 4-3-3 encourages his full-backs to fly forward and asks a lot of his central defenders and Vitinha, who patrols the space in front of the defense.

But Inter are one of the only sides in Europe who still play with two strikers, with Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez both equally as capable of exploiting any space left by advancing defenders, while their own flying full-backs Denzel Dumfries and Federico Dimarco will also get at the gaps left by Hakimi and Mendes.

Inter have also been the more consistent of the pair throughout the UEFA Champions League campaign, winning six of their eight league-phase games compared to PSG’s four and avoiding defeat in all of their knockout matches - Enrique’s side were beaten by Liverpool in the first leg of their last-16 tie, while they also lost at Aston Villa in the second leg of the quarterfinals.

With that in mind, it could pay to back Inter to land the trophy at the prices. Plenty of the players who lost the 2023 final to Manchester City are still in the squad, also giving them an experience edge, and Inzaghi’s men can make amends in Munich on Saturday.

Under 2.5 goals (-125)

Although many will be expecting a thrilling UEFA Champions League final following Inter’s 7-6 aggregate victory over Barcelona and due to PSG’s unbelievable front three - plus Bradley Barcola and Goncalo Ramos from the bench - those wishing for a goalfest may be left disappointed on Saturday.

While both teams’ attacks have been key to their respective runs to the final, it is their goalkeepers who they should probably be thanking most. Gianluigi Donnarumma was to thank for PSG’s wins over Liverpool, Villa and Arsenal while Yann Sommer pulled off save after save in Inter's semi-final win against Barca.

With both tending goal again in Munich, a low-scoring affair should be expected, which would be the norm for this competition anyway. Each of the last six UEFA Champions League finals have featured less than three goals and under 2.5 goals looks an appealing bet at the Allianz Arena.

Marquinhos to be booked (+400)

As aforementioned, Hakimi’s frequent overlaps will be key to PSG’s build-up in attack, but it will put a lot of pressure on his centre-backs, potentially leading to an exposed Marquinhos picking up a yellow card.

The Brazilian is an excellent defender, but even he is forced into tactical fouls now and again. He was booked in both legs against Liverpool - another side with plenty of pace in attack - in the round of 16 and has picked up seven yellow cards this season.

Up against two strikers, Marquinhos will have his work cut out and appeals as a card bet as a result. He is also the Parisians’ captain, meaning if things aren’t going his way he may lose his cool with the referee and be cautioned for dissent, too, further enhancing his chances of picking up a booking in Munich.
