Liverpool vs. Manchester City: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

English Premier League leaders Liverpool are set to make a major statement of intent when they face four-in-a-row champions Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.

Arne Slot took over from Jurgen Klopp in the summer and the Dutch boss has made an outstanding start as Reds manager, establishing an eight-point advantage over Pep Guardiola's misfiring Citizens.

Not since the 2017/18 season have City started a Premier League game as underdogs, but that is the case now with the Reds favorites to make home advantage count.

Liverpool vs. Manchester City betting picks and predictions

Liverpool to win (+110)

Slot has settled into life as Liverpool manager in seamless fashion, exceeding even his own wildest ambitions with just one defeat from 19 games in league and cups so far.

That came here in September when Nottingham Forest smashed and grabbed in a 1-0 victory.

Otherwise, the Reds have registered 10 wins and a draw, scoring 24 goals across those games.

City, in contrast, have lost three of their 12 in the Premier League and have gone six games without a win in all competitions, losing five in a row before the midweek draw with Feyenoord - a contest they led 3-0 after 75 minutes.

Guardiola has surely never felt pressure like it and it is an unprecedented loss of form for his side.

The Spaniard's record at Anfield with City makes for poor reading. Guardiola has only won once in nine attempts and has suffered five defeats.

There may be more misery on Merseyside for him now, as Liverpool look well placed to grab three points and make their strongest statement so far under Slot.

Mohamed Salah to score first (+500)

Mo Salah got tongues wagging last weekend when he talked about his contract situation at Anfield, saying no new deal has been offered and he is 'more out than in' with his contract set to expire in the summer.

It remains to be seen what will transpire with the Egyptian, but expect him to be fully focused on the job at hand here.

In terms of the Premier League, facing City is the acid test for any player and Salah has excelled in this fixture.

He has scored seven Premier League goals in 15 appearances against the Citizens, improving to five in seven here at Anfield and could be the man to strike first here.

Andrew Robertson to be booked (+275)

Liverpool wing-back Andrew Robertson is a prime candidate for a caution.

The Scotland international will probably have the likes of Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne lurking on his side of the field, while the irrepressible threat that is Erling Haaland poses a worry to the whole of the Reds' rearguard.

Robertson comes into this seismic Sunday test having conceded penalties in successive games against Southampton and Real Madrid.

In a showdown between the two most consistent Premier League sides of the last eight years, the 30-year-old will need to be on his toes and he might fall foul of the officials.
