Pepi replaced Sargeant with 25 minutes remaining in Pochettino’s first game in charge against Panama before sealing the victory with a 94th-minute goal, with that being the 21-year-old’s 11th strike for his country.

His opportunities have been somewhat limited at PSV this season, but when given the chance he has impressed. He scored and assisted in their weekend trip to NAC and also netted twice in a recent win over PEC Zwolle.

Across his last nine appearances for club and country, he has averaged a goal every 54 minutes, and he will be keen to nail down a regular starting spot if trusted from the start on Thursday.
