Shohei Ohtani Player Props for June 16 vs. San Diego Padres

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani makes his first start as a pitcher since 2023 on Monday, June 16, at home against the San Diego Padres.

The Dodgers signed Ohtani to an MLB-record $700 million contract due in part to his pitching ability, and this will be the first time he takes the mound in Dodger blue. He still managed to prove his worth by winning the 2024 National League MVP Award as a designated hitter in his debut season with the club while he recovered from Tommy John surgery.

Ohtani is only expected to pitch one or two innings in his debut as a Dodgers pitcher. His 44 pitches across three simulated innings last Tuesday helped speed up his return to the mound, which many observers thought would come after the All-Star break in July or even in August.
