Shohei Ohtani: Player Props, Odds & Lines for Game 3 vs. New York Yankees

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar designated hitter Shohei Ohtani is set to play in World Series Game 3 after appearing to suffer a shoulder injury while being caught stealing a base late in Game 2.

Ohtani stayed down and held his shoulder after he was caught stealing, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced on Sunday that Ohtani is likely to play on Monday night.

After a decent Game 1 and a quiet Game 2, his odds to win World Series MVP are now +1600 with LA leading the series 2-0 heading into Game 3. Ohtani's teammate Freddie Freeman is the series MVP favorite after his walk-off Grand Slam sealed the Dodgers' Game 1 win.

By his lofty standards, Ohtani struggled in his first-ever playoff series - this year's NLDS vs. the San Diego Padres - as he went 4-for-20 with one home run, four RBI, two walks and a .623 OPS. But he reached his usual heights in the NLCS against the New York Mets: 8-for-22, two home runs, six RBI, nine walks, 1.185 OPS.

In NLCS Game 4, LA's third win of the best-of-seven series, Ohtani hit a leadoff home run and scored four total runs in the game as LA won 10-2.

He also played a big role in the NLCS-clinching Game 6 win, hitting an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning to extend LA's lead to 7-3, and he was driven in by a Mookie Betts double two innings later to make it 8-4.

In Game 1 of the World Series, he scored the game-tying run in the bottom of the eighth inning, scoring from a Mookie Betts sacrifice fly.

Ohtani will face Yankees starting pitcher Clarke Schmidt in Game 3 at Yankee Stadium. Shotime is 1-for-3 lifetime against Schmidt with one home run, two RBI and two strikeouts, but Ohtani has a mere .612 OPS at Yankee Stadium in 16 career games there.
