The Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres meet in Arizona on Friday to kick off each team's Spring Training schedule.
Seattle did not make many changes to its roster this offseason, with the re-signing of Jorge Polanco and trades for outfielder Miles Mastrobuoni and relief pitcher Case Legumina being the franchise's biggest moves. The Mariners still have their core of Julio Rodriguez, Mitch Haniger, Cal Raleigh, Luis Castillo, Logan Gilbert, George Kirby, JP Crawford and Randy Arozarena under contract.
San Diego took a similar approach this offseason, only adding starting pitcher Nick Pivetta on a multi-year deal. They also added Jason Heyward, Elias Diaz, Connor Joe and Kyle Hart on one-year deals, and they also still have Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, Dylan Cease, Joe Musgrove, Yu Darvish, Michael King and Jackson Merrill.
Seattle Mariners vs. San Diego Padres will be broadcast on Padres.TV - San Diego's blackout-free streaming service - and on the MLB website.
Seattle Mariners vs. San Diego Padres is scheduled to start at 3:10 PM ET/1:10 PM MT/12:10 PM PT on Friday, February 21st from Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, Arizona.
