Scottie Scheffler Olympics Odds: World No. 1 favored to win gold medal in France

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the favorite to win gold in the Olympic men’s golf tournament taking place from August 1-4.

At +400, Scheffler edges out Xander Schauffele (+600) and Rory McIlroy (+800) at the top of the market, with strong competitors Jon Rahm (+1200), Collin Morikawa (+1200) and Ludvig Aberg (+1200) all eyeing gold as well.

Le Golf National in Guyancourt, France will play host to both the men’s and women’s competitions at the summer games. The course, which is situated an hour southwest of Paris, also hosted the 2018 Ryder Cup, which was won by Europe 17 1/2 to 10 1/2.

Scheffler did not participate in that Ryder Cup, nor has he ever played a round at Le Golf National. The world’s top-ranked golfer has had a historic 2024 with six PGA Tour wins including his second Masters title in April. Scheffler recently finished T7 at The Open in July.

His compatriot and main competitor Schauffele is not just the defending Olympic gold medalist, having won in Tokyo three years ago, but is also coming off his second major of the year with his triumph at The Open.
