Scottie Scheffler will miss the cut at the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open ending his 78 event streak.
Not many players have maintained a cut streak as long as Scottie Scheffler, Hale Irwin (86), Jack Niklaus (105), Byron Nelson (113), and Tiger Woods (142) lead the all-time list.
In the opening round of the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open, Scottie carded a 2-under par 68 before following it up with a 72 on Friday. His two round total left him at even, missing the expected cut line to be 2 under.
Scottie only hit 11 of 26 fairways and 23 of 26 greens in the first two rounds at the Scottish Open.
The last time Scheffler missed a cut was in August of 2022 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and the last time he finished outside the top 25 was at the 2024 BMW Championship.
The longest active streak is now held by Matt Fitzpatrick, who has made 28 straight cuts.
Although his remarkable cut streak appears to end, the World No 1. will have to shift his focus to next week's Open Championship. Scheffler remains one of the top contenders heading into the final major of the season.
