The action is coming thick and fast in Major League Soccer this season as the battle for the playoffs continues.
After a full midweek schedule of matches, the best clubs from across the USA and Canada are in action again on Saturday.
Cincinnati have created an eight-point cushion at the top of this season's Eastern Conference, while in the Western Conference it is Seattle Sounders who are out in front, although St Louis City are just behind them with three games in hand.
What | New York City v New England Revolution |
Where | Yankee Stadium |
When | 15:30 ET, Saturday June 3rd 2023 |
How to watch | MLS Season Pass |
Odds | New York City -106, Draw +275, New England Revolution +260 |
When Santiago Rodriguez slotted into their attack and netted a brace in a 3-1 win over FC Dallas in April, it seemed as though New York City had found a solution to their striker conundrum and were up and running in MLS.
But since that victory the Big Apple club have lost six and drawn one of their seven games in all competitions and they are one of the coldest teams in MLS.
NYC are down in 14th spot in the Eastern Conference standings and they should be opposed when they welcome highflyers New England Revolution to the Yankee Stadium.
A long-term injury sustained by defender Henry Kessler has not been ideal for Revolution - they have shipped six goals in their last two matches - but going forward they look as good as ever and at +260 they are worth backing to pick up a key away win.
What | Seattle Sounders vs Portland Timbers |
Where | Lumen Field |
When | 16:30, Saturday June 3rd 2023 |
How to watch | MLS Season Pass, FOX, Fubo, DirecTV Stream and Sling Blue |
Odds | Seattle Sounders -138, Draw +280, Portland Timbers +375 |
Seattle Sounders are the leaders of the Western Conference heading into this weekend, albeit having played a few games more than the teams around them, but their recent performances have not been particularly convincing.
With key forward Jordan Morris currently sidelined, the Sounders head into their clash with rivals Portland this weekend having lost three of their last four matches, scoring only twice in the process.
They look vulnerable and lost to Portland 4-1 as recently as April so punters should not rush to back them, but the Timbers have not exactly been flying either.
Since that triumph, Portland have won only two of their subsequent seven MLS fixtures, having lost 4-1 to Sporting Kansas City last time out.
Neither side is in great form right now and this could be a cagey contest, so back the draw at +280.
What | FC Cincinnati vs Chicago Fire |
Where | TQL Stadium |
When | 19:30, Saturday June 3rd 2023 |
How to watch | MLS Season Pass |
Odds | FC Cincinnati -150, Draw +320, Chicago Fire +375 |
FC Cincinnati had to settle for fifth spot in last year's Eastern Conference standings but have gone up a gear in 2023 and have been the standout team in this year's MLS.
With their 1-0 win over Colorado, Cincy became the first team since 2010 in MLS to reach 33 points in 14 games or fewer and they followed that up with a 3-1 win away to New York City in midweek.
They have a US Open Cup quarter-final with Pittsburgh Riverhounds to look forward to this month but MLS remains the priority and they can tighten their stranglehold on the Supporters' Shield position with a win over Chicago Fire.
Chicago are winless in their last four games in the league, having been held to a 0-0 draw by Toronto last time out.
What | Inter Miami vs DC United |
Where | DRV PNK Stadium |
When | 19:30, Saturday June 3rd 2023 |
How to watch | MLS Season Pass |
Odds | Inter Miami +155, Draw +250, DC United +170 |
The MLS regular season is approaching the halfway stage and something had to change for Inter Miami, who parted company with head coach Phil Neville and assistant coach Jason Kreis on Thursday.
It had been coming with the Floridians currently bottom of the Eastern Conference with 10 defeats from 15 matches and Javier Morales has been tasked with leading the club on an interim basis.
But it is hard to see Morales turning things around ahead of this weekend's clash with DC United, who are a value bet to beat the wounded Herons at +170.
Inter Miami have lost each of their last four MLS games, failing to score in their previous two against Montreal and New York Red Bulls, who are both outside of the playoff spots.
DC United are slightly above those two in the standings and have lost only once in their last five MLS assignments.
