Liquid finished with a 3-1 record in the group stage of the event before advancing to the final, in which they defeated Evil Geniuses 3-0 to take the title.
They progressed to the World Championship last year, having spent much of the season without "Santorin", who was frequently sidelined with health issues.
But having largely overcome those problems, "Santorin" is ready for the new season and is eager to feature alongside mid laner Soren "Bjergsen" Bjerg, who he previously played with during his time at Team SoloMid.
"Bjergsen" joined Liquid back in November and, following his addition, they now possess one of the most exciting rosters in the Esport.
Speaking about the year ahead and his side's chances, "Santorin" said: "I think we'll be super flexible as a team - it's just whether or not we will be starting with the actual roster. That's what I'm really looking forward to.
"I'm really happy I get to play with Bjerg now seven to eight years later because I feel like I'm a completely new player and I can tell he is as well.
"We're just way more well-rounded and we're overall better people and players. It's really exciting to [reunite] with them."
