There are no titles at stake for the 10-round Super Lightweight fight between Romero and Jaimes.

Romero comes into this fight with a professional boxing record of 15-2. He made his boxing debut in December of 2016, a fight he won against David Courtney by technical knockout. 

Over the next several years, Romero was more than impressive, winning all of his fights from December of 2016 to February of 2020. After starting his boxing career 11-0, Romero received his first title fight in August of 2020. This fight was for the vacant WBA Interim Lightweight title and was one he won by unanimous decision against Jackson Marinez.

Following his success in the Interim Lightweight title fight, Romero continued his winning streak in January of 2021 and July of 2021 with victories against Avery Sparrow and Anthony Yigit.

Romero was then originally scheduled to defend his WBA Interim Lightweight title against Yigit, however his opponent missed weight, so the fight was downgraded to a normal bout.

In May of 2022, Romero was looking to turn his WBA Interim Lightweight title into the WBA (Regular) Lightweight title, however he suffered his first career loss against Gervonta Davis by technical knockout. 

He bounced back in May of 2023 by winning the vacant WBA Super Lightweight title against Ismael Barroso by technical knockout, but soon lost this title against Isaac Cruz by technical knockout in March of 2024.

So far in his career, Romero has won 13 fights by knockout, has two wins by decision, and both of his losses were by knockout. 

Manuel Jaimes Record

Jaimes comes into this fight with a professional boxing record of 16-1-1. He made his boxing debut in July of 2018, a fight he won by technical knockout. Jaimes went on to win his first 10 fights before earning his first title fight in November of 2020. This fight was for the WBC Youth World Lightweight title and was one he won by unanimous decision against Christian Santiago Vazquez.

His next title fight came in April of 2022, where he failed to defend his WBC Youth World Lightweight title, losing by unanimous decision against Pedro Bernal Rodriquez. Since this loss, Jaimes has won his last four fights in a row, the most recent a triumph against Jonathan Romero by unanimous decision in July of 2024.

Over the course of his career, Jaimes has won 11 fights by knockout and has five wins by decision. His only loss was by decision and he also has one draw.
