He made his boxing debut in July of 2018, beating Carlos Apodaca Duran by technical knockout, before going on to win his next nine fights in a row. During this stretch, Jaimes won eight times by knockout, once by decision, and once due to his opponent being forced to retire from the fight.
In his 11th career contest in November of 2020, Jaimes earned his first title fight, for the vacant WBC Youth World Lightweight title. Jaimes won this fight against Christian Santiago Vazquez by unanimous decision.
Following his first title win, Jaimes fought to a draw in February of 2021 and won his next fight by knockout in December of 2021. In April of 2022, Jaimes suffered his first and only loss so far to Pedro Bernal Rodriguez by unanimous decision. Jaimes was stripped of his WBC Youth World Lightweight title.
