Jose Mourinho is set for a remarkable return to Real Madrid this summer, making his return to the club for the first time in 13 years.
Mourinho will return to the Santiago Bernabeu as the Real Madrid's head coach after Xabi Alonso was relieved of his duties in January of this year. The Portuguese manager will return as manager for the first time since he left for Chelsea in 2013.
It is expected that Los Blancos will will officially announce Mourinho's return following their final league fixture against Athletic Club on May 23rd.

Jose Mourinho spent three years in Madrid between 2010 and 2013, winning the La Liga title, the Copa del Rey, and Supercopa de España before leaving the club for Chelsea FC in Premier League.
Mourinho's most recent role was at Benfica where he led the team to an unbeaten record in the Liga Portugal, but still managed to finish third place in the league, eight points off the winners Porto.
"The Special One" will come in to settle down a turbulent few seasons for Madrid, with expectations of bringing Los Blancos back to the top of La Liga. Madrid's rivals Barcelona have won back-to-back La Liga titles, something that has not been done since 2017/18 - 2018/19.
Since winning the UEFA Champions League in 2024, Madrid have endured a surprising trophy drought, and Mourinho's job will be getting Madrid's hands bac on some silverware.
Los Blancos President Florentino Perez will have lots of faith in the 63-year-old Mourinho, whose career has been littered with trophies nearly everywhere he goes.
Mourinho's contract is likely to take him through the 2027/28 season, but if things to not go according to plan next season his second tenure could very well be cut short.
