The reigning national runners-up Purdue, the No. 4 seed in the Midwest region, take on No. 13 High Point in the Men’s NCAA Tournament round of 64.
The second game of the round of 64 on Thursday afternoon brings viewers an intriguing matchup.
Purdue, the 2024 national runners-up, enter March Madness with a different look this year.
For starters, they don’t have Wooden Award winner Zach Edey, who powered the Boilermakers to the 2024 national championship, nor Lance Jones and Mason Gillis, who were key on the run as well.
Still, March-tested guards Braden Smith and Fletcher Loyer lead an experienced Purdue backcourt that shot the lights out from 3-point range this season (.395 – 13th in Division I).
High Point earned a bid to the dance for the first time in program history in 2025. The Big South tournament winners went 29-5 this season behind backcourt duo Kezza Giffa (14.8 PPG) and D’maurian Williams (13.5 PPG).
The Panthers are one of the most efficient scoring teams in the nation, shooting 49.4% as a team (7th in Division I) and 36.4% from beyond the arc (63rd in Division I).
This one could come down to who makes more 3-point shots.
Purdue vs. High Point will be broadcast on truTV, with streaming available on MAX.
All March Madness games can be streamed live on the March Madness Live App with a TV provider sign-in.
Purdue vs. High Point will begin at 12:40 PM ET / 11:40 AM CT / 9:40 AM PT on Thursday, March 20 from Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island.
