A complete list of every United States international playing in the Premier League in the 2024/25 season.
Team | Bournemouth |
Position | Defensive Midfielder |
Age | 25 |
Hometown | Wappinger, New York |
Tyler Adams appeared in just three matches for a total of 121 minutes in the 2023/24 season as he battled a hamstring injury. He recovered in time to play in the Copa America for the United States, but he underwent back surgery after the tournament and will miss the start of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
Like many players in the USMNT player pool, Adams needs to stay healthy and start every game. He's a key player for the US because the team doesn't have a ball-winning midfielder with his athleticism and composure, but other players who can play his position - namely Johnny Cardoso of Real Betis - are gaining on him.
Adams projects to be an every-game starter for Bournemouth when healthy, but entering the season coming off surgery puts him at a disadvantage.
That said, Bournemouth surprised many when they finished 12th last season, and a healthy Adams anchoring the midfield could see them build on that.
Team | Crystal Palace |
Position | Center Back |
Age | 24 |
Hometown | Birmingham, Alabama |
Chris Richards, a product of the FC Dallas academy, took a big step forward with Crystal Palace last season.
He, like the rest of the team, blossomed after the club hired Oliver Glasner midway through the season. Richards played 2,094 minutes and appeared in 26 matches, including starting the final six games of the Premier League season and winning five of them.
Richards has spent some time in midfield while at Crystal Palace, which has helped him develop his ability on the ball.
He started all three of the USMNT's Copa America matches, and while the team won only once in a disappointing showing, the defense was mostly strong and Richards played a role in the Stars and Stripes conceding just three goals in the tournament.
Team | Fulham |
Position | Left Back |
Age | 27 |
Hometown | Milton Keynes, England |
Born in England to a father from New York, Antonee 'Jedi' Robinson could have been the starting left back for England in the Euros this summer had he not declared to play for the USMNT years ago.
Robinson is the most established American in the Premier League, especially now that former Fulham teammate Tim Ream moved back to the USA to join Charlotte FC in MLS. Jedi has exactly 100 appearances in just three Premier League seasons, showing his durability and reliability.
The left back is in his prime and he won the Fulham Player of the Season last year as he played in 37 of 38 league matches while providing six assists. He led the entire Premier League in interceptions with 80, and only three defenders provided more assists.
Team | Nottingham Forest |
Position | Goalkeeper |
Age | 30 |
Hometown | Park Ridge, New Jersey |
New Jersey native Matt Turner got a bad deal in his first campaign with Nottingham Forest. The club signed another goalkeeper in the same transfer window in which he joined, and the team brought in a third goalkeeper in the January transfer window.
Turner played 17 matches - more than the team's other two goalies - and his advanced shot-stopping stats were slightly better than the other 'keepers, too. His goals prevented stat - goals conceded minus expected goals on target faced (which measures the liklihood of a shot on target finding the back of the net) - was in the negatives, but it wasn't as bad as that of the other two Forest 'keepers.
With Matt Turner in goal, a team knows what they will get.
He's generally a solid shot-stopper, especially with a decent defense ahead of him, which wasn't the case for Forest in 2023/24. It would not be a shock to see him move before the summer transfer window ends, and he'd be great for a team that prioritizes defense and won't make him play out from the back often.
