Players With the Most Super Bowl Touchdowns

Touchdowns make a difference in any football game, but each one is that much more important when it's in the Super Bowl.

Here, we have a list of the all-time career Super Bowl leaders in touchdowns scored and in passing touchdowns.

Players with the Most Super Bowl Touchdowns

Jerry Rice: 8

Jerry Rice, the consensus greatest wide receiver of all time, leads all players with eight career touchdowns in the Super Bowl. He won in his first three appearances - all with the San Francisco 49ers - and lost in his final Super Bowl when he played for the Oakland Raiders.

Rice caught 11 passes for 215 yards and a score in his first Super Bowl, had seven catches for 148 yards and three scores in his second, caught 10 passes for 149 yards and three scores in his third, and caught five passes for 77 yards and a TD in his final Super Bowl.

Rob Gronkowski: 5

Tight end Rob Gronkowski holds the record for most Super Bowl TDs by a quarterback and pass catcher in NFL history along with QB Tom Brady. Brady has found Gronk for five scores in five Super Bowl appearances together.

Gronkowski went scoreless in his first and fourth Super Bowl appearances. The three-time champion caught six passes for 68 yards and a score in his second Super Bowl, nine passes for 116 yards and two TDs in his third, and six passes for 67 yards and a pair of TDs in his fifth and final Super Bowl appearance.

Emmitt Smith: 5

Running back Emmitt Smith, who spent the vast majority of his career with the Dallas Cowboys, played in three Super Bowls, won all three, and scored in all three.

In his first Super Bowl, against the Buffalo Bills, he rushed 22 times for 108 yards and a score. In his second, also against the Bills, he rushed 30 times for 132 yards and two TDs. Smith had 18 carries for 49 yards and two TDs in his final Super Bowl, against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Players with the Most Super Bowl Passing Touchdowns

Tom Brady: 21

No NFL player's Super Bowl record comes close to that of Tom Brady, so it's no surprise to see him holding the record for the most career Super Bowl passing TDs. Brady played in 10 Super Bowls and threw 21 touchdowns in those games.

Not only does Brady have 10 more TDs than the next-closest player, he has almost 2,000 more Super Bowl passing yards than the next-closest QB.

Brady threw 3+ TD passes in four Super Bowl appearances and had multiple TD passes in seven of his 10 Super Bowl appearances. He was held without a passing TD in just one Super Bowl, the 13-3 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LV.

Joe Montana: 11

San Francisco 49ers QB Joe Montana went 4-0 in Super Bowls in his career, and in addition to his 11 passing TDs, he also ran for a pair of scores in his Super Bowl career. Montana got more confident as time went on.

In his first Super Bowl appearance, where the 49ers beat the Cincinnati Bengals 26-21, Montana threw for the fewest yards (157), touchdowns (1) and completions (14) in his four championship games. In the next one, a 38-16 win over the Miami Dolphins, he completed 24/35 passes for 331 yards and three TDs.

Montana and the Niners beat the Bengals 20-16 in Super Bowl XXIII - Montana's third - and the QB completed 23/36 passes for 357 yards and two scores. His final Super Bowl - a 55-10 blowout win over the Denver Broncos - was arguably Montana's best as he completed 22/29 passes for 297 yards and five TDs. Montana never threw an interception in his four Super Bowl appearances.

Terry Bradshaw: 9

QB Terry Bradshaw appeared in four Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers and won all four. In Super Bowl XI, Bradshaw's first championship game in which Pittsburgh beat the Minnesota Vikings 16-6, the QB completed 9/14 passes for just 96 yards and one TD.

Bradshaw also completed nine passes in Super Bowl X, in which the Steelers beat the Cowboys 16-6, but they gained 209 yards and two of them found the end zone. In the 35-31 Super Bowl XIII win over Dallas, Bradshaw completed 17/30 passes for 318 yards and four TDs. Then, he threw for 209 yards and two TDs in his final Super Bowl (XIV), a 31-19 win over the Los Angeles Rams.
