The Pittsburgh Steelers signed two quarterbacks this offseason. Which one will be under center come Week 1?
Since longtime starter Ben Roethlisberger retired at the end of the 2021 season, the Steelers have yet to find their new QB1.
It’s been a combination of Kenny Pickett, Mitchell Trubisky and Mason Rudolph since then, all of whom are now on different teams ahead of the 2024 season.
Pittsburgh signed Russell Wilson to a one-year contract in March, and then traded for Justin Fields a day later, leading many to question the team’s front office.
Wilson, a 13-year pro and 2013 Super Bowl champion with the Seahawks, has seen his career take a downward spiral since being traded to the Broncos in 2022. The 9x Pro Bowler went 11-19 as a starter in two seasons with Denver before being offloaded to Piitsburgh.
Unlike Wilson, Fields still has a lot to prove after a rocky three years with the Bears. The 2021 first-round pick went 10-28 as a starter in Chicago. While Fields demonstrated his unique ability as a runner, he never developed into the type of prolific passer needed to have sustained success in the NFL.
Which new quarterback will start for the Steelers in Week 1?
Russell Wilson | -900 |
Justin Fields | +550 |
