Ecuador, on the verge of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, go against Peru on Tuesday night.
The Tricolours have been excellent during CONMEBOL qualification, conceding the fewest goals (five) of any team across 15 rounds so far, and can secure their spot in next summer’s World Cup with a win over Peru.
Ecuador is unbeaten in eight matches dating back to September 2024, when they lost 1-0 to Brazil.
Peru, meanwhile, is on the outside looking in when it comes to World Cup qualification. Oscar Ibanez’s team is seven points behind Venezuela in 7th, the final inter-continental playoff spot.
Ecuador triumphed 1-0 the last time these two nations met in September 2024.
