No. 8 Penn State opens its season with a trip to Morgantown on Saturday, as the Nittany Lions will face off against West Virginia for a second-straight year.
These two schools met in 2023 Week 1, with Penn State coming out on top, 38-15.
Penn State is rated highly in a loaded Big Ten, favored ahead of Michigan to win the conference title but behind juggernauts Ohio State and Oregon.
Before the Nittany Lions face off against Big Ten foes new and old, they have a difficult test on their hands Week 1 in the form of Big 12 school West Virginia.
The Mountaineers have not been featured in the AP Top 25 since Neal Brown took over as head coach in 2019, having previously been a regular in the rankings under Dana Holgorsen, Bill Stewart and Rich Rodriguez. But WVU is coming off its best season in seven years, going 9-4 and winning the Duke’s Mayo Bowl 30-10 over UNC.
Penn State vs. West Virginia will be broadcast live on FOX, which can be viewed through traditional cable TV packages or streaming apps such as YouTube TV or fuboTV.
Penn State vs. West Virginia will kick off at 12 PM ET / 11 AM CT on Saturday, August 31 from Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown, West Virginia.
