Cuban boxing has plenty of names that will stand the test of time and looking to join these pantheon of boxing greats is Osleys Iglesias, who takes on Sena Agbeko on August 17.
The 26-year-old (11-0, 10 KOs) super-middleweight Iglesias will fight for the third time this year on the undercard of Christian Mbilli vs. Sergiy Derevyanchenko.
‘El Tornado’ blew away Marcelo Coceres and Evgeny Shvedenko with first-round knockouts to take his overall KO percentage to nearly 91 percent.
Ghanian-born American resident Agbeko (28-3, 22 KOs) is next tasked with halting the 168-pound force of nature. Priced at +1100 to do so is a fair reflection on the 32-year-old who lasted less than five minutes with Iglesias’s compatriot David Morrell who run through him in two rounds last December.
This looks like a mismatch on paper but Agbeko carries his own punching power which Iglesias is on record saying he is wary of. Both men don’t go the scheduled distance in their fights and it’s very difficult to give a reason why this one will go the 10 rounds.
The public’s expectations of Iglesias are growing and on Saturday night we can expect to see another electric performance from the rising star who will likely end Agbeko’s hopes early on.
If you like the favorite’s chances at notching up another first round victory you can get +700 on him to do so.
Round Group betting: Iglesias rounds 1-2 (+300)
Total rounds: Under 4.5 (-125)
