The Orlando Magic have a young roster and started last season with a 14-5 record, but they slid down the standings after that to finish fifth in the Eastern Conference and exit the playoffs in the first round.
Still, they showed more reasons for optimism in 2023/24 than most people expected, and before the 2024/25 season, they signed expert three-and-D wing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to add some much-needed shooting and experience.
KCP joins Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Moritz Wagner, Jalen Suggs, Cole Anthony, Goga Bitadze, Wendell Carter Jr. and Jonathan Isaac in the core of the Orlando roster.
Banchero made his first All-Star Game while averaging 22.6 points and 5.4 assists, Franz Wagner averaged 19.7 points, Suggs finished in the top 10 of Defensive Player of the Year voting while shooting just under 40 percent from deep, and Isaac is elite in most advanced defensive stats.
Plus, Bitadze, Carter and Mo Wagner are all solid on the interior while guards Anthony, Anthony Black and Gary Harris are all talented but each need to improve in certain areas.
Eight players on the roster, not including players on two-way deals, have less than five years of NBA experience under their belts. After plenty of lessons learned in 2023/24, can head coach Jamahl Mosley guide this team further than they went last year?
