Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks enter 2024 in a brand new conference and with high hopes to reach their first College Football Playoff since 2014.
Led by Heisman Trophy favorite Dillon Gabriel, Oregon is the No. 3 ranked team in the AP preseason poll and is expected to be one of the last teams remaining in the CFP come January.
With a brand new slate of teams – including Ohio State and Michigan – on their conference schedule, can the Ducks live up to their lofty preseason expectations?
Let’s take a look at Oregon’s odds ahead of the 2024 season.
Oregon has recorded 10+ wins in both seasons under Dan Lanning, including a 12-2 finish last season.
The Ducks are second-favorite to win the Big Ten behind Ohio State (+150). It's the program's first season in their new conference, along with fellow Pac-12 migrants Washington, USC and UCLA.
Oregon has the second-shortest odds to reach the CFP, trailing only Ohio State (-600) and Georgia (-600). The Ducks finished last season ranked No. 8, four spots away from the CFP. The program's only visit to the playoff came in the first ever edition in 2014, when they lost to Florida State in the national championship game.
Only Georgia (+280) and Ohio State (+400) are favored ahead of Oregon to win the national championship. Unlike those two teams, the Ducks have never been crowned national champions.
