Oleksandr Usyk is a -138 favorite to win vs. Tyson Fury when the two face off on Saturday, December 21.
Usyk, the unified heavyweight champion of the world, will aim to retain his belts on Saturday night against Fury.
The Ukrainian heavyweight handed his rival the first loss of his career in May 2024, and seven months on, the pair will enter the ring again in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Usyk took the first fight via split decision (115-112, 114-113, 113-114), using a stretch of 14 unanswered punches in the ninth round to knock Fury down and tilt the bout in his favor.
Many believe that while Fury has the size and punching power advantage, Usyk is the more tactical fighter and is more selective with his attacks, which allows him to excel in the later rounds.
Although Fury believed he won the fight, there is no doubt the 36-year-old will aim to avoid the pitfalls that led to those late round scores in Usyk’s favor and his first loss as a professional boxer.
Will Usyk come with a similar approach and be able to go the distance with Fury?
We’ll find out on Saturday night.
