Nico Iamaleava, the starting quarterback for the No. 7 Tennessee Volunteers, has thrown as many TD passes as interceptions in his past four games.
The Vols are 7-1 (4-1 SEC) and were ranked in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2024 season. Iamaleava was a driving force behind the team's early season success as it put up point totals of 69, 51 and 71 in its first three games.
But, similar to Iamaleava's production, the Tennessee offense under head coach Josh Heupel has not been nearly as prolific in recent weeks. In fact, the unit hasn't scored more than 30 points in a single game since the Week 3 71-0 win over Kent State.
Tennessee has beaten quality teams such as then-No. 7 Alabama, then-No. 15 Oklahoma, and a Kentucky team that played close games against Georgia and Ole Miss. But those were narrow wins: The Vols beat Oklahoma by 10, Bama by seven, and Kentucky by 10. And, they escaped an unranked Florida team by six.
The one loss on the Vols' record is a 19-14 defeat to the Arkansas Razorbacks in early October.
While that loss - based on the recent CFP rankings - is not being held against Tennessee, it means Iamaleava and company have just about no room for error with No. 2 Georgia and No. 24 Vanderbilt still remaining on the schedule.
Iamaleava - who has completed 65.4 percent of his passes for 1,705 yards and a 9-4 TD-INT ratio with a single rushing TD in 2024 - needs to get back to the level he reached in the first few weeks of the season.
Before we find out whether he does just that in Week 11 against Mississippi State, let's look at his player props, lines and odds for the SEC contest.
