The No. 7 Tennessee Volunteers will be led back onto the field by quarterback Nico Iamaleava this weekend against Kentucky for their first game since beating then-No. 7 Alabama 24-17 two weeks ago.
Iamaleava did not play the cleanest game against 'Bama but he got the job done. He threw the game-winning 16-yard TD pass to culminate a 54-yard drive in the fourth quarter.
His stats for the game were 14/27 completed passes (51.9 percent) for 194 passing yards and a 1-1 TD-INT ratio, and he ran nine times for 44 yards.
The Volunteers offense under head coach Josh Heupel was one of the most prolific through the first three weeks of the season. It scored point totals of 69, 51 and 71 while not allowing more than 10 points in a game in that span.
Since then, SEC play began and Tennessee (6-1 overall, 3-1 SEC) has scored point totals of 25, 14, 23 and 24 in its last four games.
The second-year QB has a tough task against the Kentucky Wildcats (3-5 overall, 1-5 SEC). The Mark Stoops-coached team ranks 28th out of 134 Division I teams in points allowed per game with 19.9, and their defense allows the 20th-fewest passing yards (178.0) per game in the nation.
Plus, the Wildcats allow less than one passing TD per game. It should be noted that, while they held then-No. 1 Georgia to 13 points in Week 3, they allowed their highest point totals of the season to middling offenses in South Carolina (31 points in Week 2) and Florida (48 points in Week 8).
Can Iamaleava help Tennessee's offense reach the lofty heights it got to early in the season? Before we find out, let's look at the QB's player props, odds and over-under lines for the Week 10 game vs. a tough Kentucky team.
