Matthews has not scored in two games, but more importantly, he has scored just one goal in his last nine. Toronto has gone 6-3-0 in that span, but as captain and a key contributor, he knows he must improve.

On the big stage of Madison Square Garden amid a tight race in this standings, expect Matthews to be an absolute hound on the puck and a force for his team.

Whether he scores or not, he will be firing everything at the net to find his form and help secure a crucial two points.
