NFL teams cut their rosters down this week in preparation for Week 1, which kicks off on Sept. 7.
Tehere have been a few notable cuts that took place prior to the Aug. 29 deadline for finalized 53-man rosters.
Here's a look at some of the big names who got the chop and where they could end up next.
With what they deemed to be a surplus of quarterbacks, the Arizona Cardinals made the decision to part ways with experienced QB Colt McCoy.
It's a move that did catch some off guard, especially with regular starter Kyler Murray on the physically unable-to-perform list heading into the regular season.
McCoy has been dealing with his own injury concerns through the offseason, with an elbow issue hindering his training.
Joshua Dobbs arrival at the Cardinals pushed McCoy further down the pecking order, while Clayton Tune will also be competing for game time.
There are rumblings of a few teams that could be interested in bringing in McCoy, with the likes of the New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals being liked with the 36-year-old.
The Bengals are considered one of the contenders for the NFL Championship this season and are currently +1100 to claim the title.
There were more eyebrows raised when New England decided to let a quarterback of their own go in the form of Bailey Zappe.
The backup QB was expected to stay with the Pats for this season but the AFC East franchise has made the call and waived the 24-year-old Texan.
Zappe was a fourth-round pick in last year's draft and managed to appear in four games with two starts as a rookie last year.
Getting plenty of game time with the Pats during preseason, Zappe would have been hoping to back up Mac Jones this season.
However, the Pats have made the decision to cut Zappe and, like McCoy, there is likely to be plenty of interest.
It's also a call that leaves New England with just one quarterback on their roster, hence the links with bringing in McCoy as cover for Jones.
With the Buffalo Bills dominating in the AFC East in recent years, the Pats are available at +800 to win the division this season.
Slot cornerback Desmond King was a surprise cut from the roster with the Houston Texans this week.
Having started every preseason game for the Texans, King was expected to play a significant role with Houston over the coming month.
However, King, along with veteran linebacker Christian Kirksey, were both big names to be cut ahead of the start of the regular season.
There should be no shortage of interest in a player of King's talents and the likes of the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens have already been linked with his services.
Big things are also expected of the 49ers this year as they look to finally end their long wait for an NFL Championship.
The Niners are +900 to win the title this season.
Veteran wide receiver Greg Ward is looking for a new team following his departure from the Philadelphia Eagles this week.
An ankle injury sustained towards the end of preseason certainly did not help Ward's cause with the Eagles, who will be looking to go one step further after losing to the Chiefs in the Championship game last season.
Ward is a consistent performer and has come up for some big plays for the Eagles in the past. There have been some suggestions he could be moved to Philly's practice squad until his ankle fully heels.
However, other teams will be fully aware of Ward's situation and could make a move for the 28-year-old receiver.
Philadelphia have an abundance of talent in the wide receiver department, with the likes of A.J Brown and DeVonta Smith at their disposal.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts linked up with Ward for some big plays on the Eagles' journey through the playoffs but perhaps the pair have played their last game in the NFL together.
The Eagles are +800 to go one better this season and win a second NFL Championship in the franchise's history.
